Schola Cantorum Jubilate was very excited that the day had finally arrived. A very dear member of the choir, Dianne Attard was to unite in marriage to Joseph Bartolo. Preparations for the Nuptial Ceremony were held way before so that the couple, together with their families and friends could hold dear this God-sent blessing for their entire lives. By virtue of this, Schola Cantorum Jubilate played a very active part in this Ceremony held at Saint George’s Basilica in Victoria. The wedding mass started at 5.00 pm.
As relatives and friends were walking in church to be present and share the happiness with Dianne and Joseph, various instrumental pieces were performed so as to boost the wedding atmosphere. These musical pieces included the 'Trumpet Voluntary' by Purcell and 'Trumpet Voluntary' by Clarke. Both were interpreted by Trumpeter Andre Helleur and Organist Joseph Camilleri.
As the bride walked down the aisle, she was welcomed by Schubert's 'Ave Maria' interpreted by Director and Soprano Marouska Attard. Other pieces performed by the choir during this Ceremony were Allelulia (Taize'/Bose); Ave Verum Corpus (Mozart); Sanctus (Portelli); Il-Mulej qam mill-imwiet (Portelli); Agnus Dei (Oltrasi); Make me a Channel of your Peace (Temple); The Lord Bless you and keep you (Rutter) and Jubilate Deo (Portelli). Finally, the Jubilate Ensemble interpreted Mendelssohn's 'Wedding March' as the newlyweds walked out of church given the consent by which they mutually gave and received and which is now sealed by God.
Congratulations to Dianne and Joseph
