High Mass at Mdina Cathedral

by Silvana Sultana

Schola Cantorum Jubilate left the island of Gozo on a beautiful Sunday morning to animate a High Mass at St. Paul's Cathedral at Mdina.

It was indeed a special occasion for the organisation - Hospice Malta which was celebrating its Silver Jubilee since its foundation. Around 900 patients are currently benefitting from the services provided by this NGO and much more had received support in the past years.

Most of the patients who receive the sterling support from Hospice are effected by cancer, other suffer from motor neuron diseases and other have respiratory problems. They care for vulnerable persons, supporting them and helping them face these health disorders with dignity, courage and other material support.

Mass started at noon and was officiated by Mgr. Paul Cremona, Archbishop and Mgr Aldo Cavalli, Nunzio Appostolico.

The choir was under the direction of Mro. Mark Gauci and was accompanied by Dr. Joseph Camilleri on the organ.

It was another meaningful occasion for the choir, where apart from performing various sacred motets suitable for the Lenten period, it had the opportunity to offer its artistry formation to brighten the celebrations of this remarkable anniversary.
