Schola Cantorum Jubilate had the joy of animating this Easter morning mass in which Ben Sultana and Tiffany Rigaut were baptised at the Basilica in Xagħra.
Cantor Stefan Attard sang the psalm, composed by Portelli and the choir perfomed the Paschal Alleulia with the Versetto for the proclamation of the Gospel. Oltrasi’s ‘Missa Cantate Domino’ was performed along with ‘Surrexit Christus’ for the introit, ‘L-Ikel tal-Ħajja’ (Holst) during the Offertory, ‘Io Sono Risorto’ (Liberto) and ‘Ir-Ragħaj u s-Sid tiegħi’ during communion, and the ‘Regina Cœli’ in plain chant at the end of the mass.
The choir was under the direction of Mark Gauci and accompanied on the organ by Jean Noel Attard.
