The Xewkija Parish Church bells rang joyfully to announce the Wedding of a young couple – Samantha Cefai and Clifford Debattista.
Mass started at 5.30pm and was officiated by Mgr. Arc. Carmelo Mercieca. The bridal entourage was welcomed in church on Schubert’s notes of the ‘Ave Maria’ which was interpreted by Stephanie Portelli.
The other pieces performed by the choir were: ‘Allelulia’ (Taize’), ‘Panis Angelicus’ (Franck), ‘Sanctus’ and ‘Agnus Dei’ (Oltrasi), ‘Jesu Joy of Man’s Desiring’ (Bach), ‘Bless the Lord’ and finally organist Joseph Camilleri interpreted ‘The Wedding March’ (Mendelsshon). The choir was under the direction of Mro. Mark Gauci.
