Today it’s Christmas and SCJ kept its annual commitment to join the choirs of angels and sing with great joy the news of the birth of Christ. Before the 11am mass, the celestial voices of the choir performed some of the most favourit and popular Christmas carols such as ‘Sir Chistemas’, ‘Carol of the Drum’, ‘Hark the Herald’ and ‘Away in Manger’.
At 11o’clock the choir welcomed Fr. Daniel Xerri who celebrated mass with Wade’s ‘Adeste Fideles’. Today the choir performed Oltrasi’s ‘Cantate Domino’ Mass. Stefan Attard sang the Psalm while during the offertory procession, Marouska Attard interpreted the moving and highly acclaimed ‘O Holy Night’ by Adolphe Charles Adam. For the commuion, the choir sang the well known traditonal Maltese congregational hymn ‘Ninni la Tibkix Iżjed’ and ended the euchristic celebration with Handel’s’ While Shepherds Watched’.
