The foyer of St. Augustine’s Priory, during, ‘Carols by Candlelight’, will host an exhibition VISION-ES by Aaron Formosa.

Aaron Formosa was born in Victoria in 1980 and is basically a self-taught painter. He has participated and exhibited collectively in competitions and exhibitions in his country.  Up till now, Formosa has held two personal exhibitions: ‘Mysterium Ultimum’, at the Gozo Sacred Heart Seminary Exhibition Hall in 2013 and ‘Light of the World’ at the Banca Giuratale in 2015.  His works, especially sacred art and landscapes are to be found in a number of private and public collections in Gozo, Malta, Italy and the United States of America – as well as in private chapels.  In his art Formosa tries to go beyond what ‘appears’ in nature and investigates that ‘experience’, however vague it may be, which transcends what is merely sensible.  Formosa also holds an M.A degree in Philosophy from the University of Malta and teaches the subject at the Sir M.A Refalo Sixth Form in Gozo.
