On Easter Day, mass is celebrated with great solemnity since it is the greatest feast for the Roman Catholic Church. Schola Cantorum Jubilate animated the 11am mass at the Basilica of Marija Bambina of Xagħra. Mgr. Arc. Carmelo Refalo led the ceremony. Jean Noel Attard accompanied the choir on the Church organ. The choir performed the ‘Missa de Angelis' (Zardini) set in four voices alternating with the assemblea who participates with the Gregorian chant. The other hymns were: ‘Surrexit Christus' (Taizè), the Psalm 117 (Portelli) was sung by Stefan Attard, the Paschal Allelulia and versetto (Portelli), ‘L-Ikel tal-Ħajja' (Holst), ‘Sicut Cervus' (Palestrina), ‘Io sono risorto' (Liberto) and finally the ‘Regina Coeli' by Bartolucci who was installed as Cardinal by His Holiness Pope Benedict XVI. The ceremony included the baptism of Paul Bajada.
