Choir Festival 2013The end of this month (October) and the beginning of the next, will host around one thousand choristers from around Europe, from Russia, Indonesia, Israel and China. All these people share a common passion; that of singing and in fact they will participate in the International Choirs’ Festival.

The Ministry for Tourism, the Malta Tourism Authority together with the German Organisation Interkultur organise this festival which is held in Malta every two years.

The Festival includes competitions and friendship concerts by different categories including: mixed/female/male choirs, children and youth choirs, choirs specialising in sacred music, folklore and popular choral music. On Sunday morning, the participating choirs will animate mass in different churches in Malta. Results will be notified during a special ceremony on Sunday evening.

Schola Cantorum Jubilate will take part in this year’s edition and will participate in the Sacred Music Competition. Currently the choir is busily preparing for this event which will mark another important experience.

Schola Cantorum Jubilate will perform on Saturday 2nd November at St. Publius Church in Floriana in front of the jury. Then on Sunday 3rd November, the choir will animate mass at St. Patrick’s Church in Sliema. Moreover, the choir will have private sessions with professional musicians in coaching.
