Annamarie Xerri and Edward Cordina invited Schola Cantorum Jubilate to animate their Nuptial Mass. The bride was welcomed in the Basilica of Xagħra by Marouska Attard who interpreted Gounod’s ‘Ave Maria’. The Mass started at 5pm and was officiated by Rev. Fr. Joseph Bajada. The other pieces interpreted were: ‘Allelulia’ (Taize’), ‘Ave Verum Corpus’ (Mozart), ‘Sanctus’ (Oltrasi), ‘Il-Mulej qam mill-imwiet’ (Portelli), ‘Agnus Dei’ (Oltrasi), ‘Jesu Joy of Man’s Desiring’ (Bach), ‘Bless the Lord’ (Taize’), ‘Jubilate Deo’ (Portelli) and finally Mendelssohn’s ‘Wedding March’ which was interpreted by the Jubilate Chamber Ensemble. Just before the blessing of the new couple, Marouska Attard sung the first verse of the hymn ‘Veni Creator’ and this helped the congregation join silently in prayer.
