wedding260616Today Schola Cantorum Jubilate sang the Wedding Mass of Carolina Salamanca and Herman Calleja at the National Shrine of Ta' Pinu. Mass started at 2.30pm with the choir welcoming the bride with Bach’s ‘Jesu Joy of Man’s desiring’. Right after the exchange of vows the choir performed ‘Ubi Cartias’ to greet the new couple. ‘Take Me O Lord’ by Francesca Leftley was performed during the offertory procession and was interpreted by soprano and choir director Marouska Attard.

The sung liturgy continued with the highly acclaimed ‘Panis Angelicus’ (Franck) during the communion and Shubert’s ‘Ave Maria’ at the end of mass while the new couple offered a bouquet of flowers to Our Lady of Ta’ Pinu. After a moment of prayer in the chapel, the couple walked out of the church while the organist Joseph Camilleri played Pachelbel’s ‘Canon in D’. Mass was officiated by Fr. Martin Micallef, director of Dar tal-Providenza Malta.

SCJ extends its greetings to Carolina and Herman on this special day of their marriage.
