Wedding of Soprano Sephora and Joseph

It was a special day for chorister Choristers Sephora Galea and her fiancé Joseph Zammit as they tied the knot. However it was a special celebration for Schola Cantorum Jubilate as one of its members reached another step in life.

Soprano Sephora Galea, accompanied by her father reached the Xagħra Basilica altar while Choir director and Soprano Marouska Attard interpreted Schubert’s ‘Ave Maria’. The choir together with the Jubilate Ensemble interpreted various pieces amongst which ‘Ave Verum’ (Mozart), ‘Alleluia’ (Gabrieli), ‘Sanctus’ (Portelli) and ‘Jesu Joy of Man’s Desiring (Bach). Mass was officiated by Can. Anthony Refalo, rector of Jesus of Nazareth Church in Xagħra which lies in the vicinity of Sephora’s home.

At the end of mass, the ‘Hallelujah Chorus’ (Handel). Undoubtedly it served to render homage to our Lord for blessing this new family with love.

SCJ sincerely sends its greetings to the new couple as they embark on a new journey together. Though living miles away, music will surely remain the common ground which keeps us closer.
