le="text-align: justify;">Schola Cantorum Jubilate opened the year’s Wedding Season with a celebration at St. George’s Basilica in Victoria. The couple Karen Lupi Spencer and Richard Scerri asked Schola Cantorum Jubilate to animate their Nuptial Mass which started at 6pm and was officiated by Mgr. Carmelo Refalo. The choir, directed by Marouska Attard was accompanied by the Jubilate Ensemble. Soprano Marouska Attard welcomed the bride in church with Schubert’s ‘Ave Maria’. The choir performed the other hymns and pieces: ‘Allelulia’ (Taizè), ‘Panis Angelicus’ (Franck), ‘Sanctus’ (Oltrasi), ‘Agnus Dei’ (Oltrasi), ‘Make me a Channel of your peace’ (Temple), ‘Jubilate Deo’ (Portelli) and finally Mendelssohn’s ‘Wedding March’. The latter was played instrumentally. It was a lovely ceremony which imparted the blessings on the new family.
