Schola Cantorum Jubilate will be touring the northern part of France. They will be residing in Chevaigné in the region of Brittany. On Saturday 23rd June, the choir will give a concert at the prestigious Cathedral of Rennes at 17.30. On Sunday 24th, in Chevaigné, the choir will animate the 9.15 Sunday mass and will later, at 19.00, give a secular concert at the Municipality Hall. On Monday 25th a cultural tour is planned with visits at St. Malo, the Polders and windmills and finally with a must-see destination - Mont Saint Michel. This is a rocky tidal island in the Normandy region. It is a Unesco World Heritage Site which boasts of Saint Michel Abbey and the 11th century Parish Church of Saint Pierre. Here the choir will give a vocal sacred recital at 11.45. The choir’s repertoire includes various pieces by Palestrina, Mozart, Frank, Gabrieli, Rossini, Bartolucci, Stanford, Sullivan and from the French Jean Phillipe Rameau. Maltese compositions from Giuseppe Caruana, Charles Camilleri and Paul Portelli will be performed as well.
