Annual boat trip

by Stefan Attard

Every summer Schola Cantorum Jubilate organises a boat trip for its choristers and friends. This appointment is highly awaited by each and every member. Apart from enjoying the splendour of Mediterranean Sea and the surrounding ambiance which give identity to the island of Gozo, the group enjoys relaxing moments at sea. They started the day with mass at 8.15am, officiated by Rev. Fr. Richard Farrugia inside the chapel of Ġużeppa Debono Home in Għajnsielem.

Then at 9am all were at Mġarr Harbour and after boarding the ‘Blue Lagoon’, they left for Comino. The first swim was at the Blue Lagoon in the clear blue waters and with the whereabouts still silent from the usual hustle and bustle of a Sunday Summer-Day. Later Capt. Frank moved the yacht to Crystal Lagoon, another special point in Comino. From here, the choristers landed and walked towards the Tower of Comino which was open for visitors. The group admired the beauty of the islands from on top of the roof of the tower. Before leaving, choir leader Stefan Attard presented a donation to the volunteers of Din l-Art Ħelwa, the NGO group which takes care of certain historical places in Malta. Later on, the boat trip proceeded with stops at Mġarr ix-Xini and at Ras il-Qala. The trip finished at around 5pm with the smiling red faces, all tired after a day at sea.
