by Silvana Sultana

The last day of May will surely be remembered wholehearthedly by Mary Carm Meilak and Josef Bajada.

In fact, today, Schola Cantorum Jubilate animate their Nuptial Mass at Kerċem Parish Church. The choir was under the direction of Mro. Mark Gauci and Joseph Camilleri accompanied on the organ.

Mass started at 5pm and was officiated by the Parish Priest Fr. Brian Meilak, cousin of the bride. On entering the church, the bride was welcomed by Stephanie Portelli who interpreted Gounod’s ‘Ave Maria’.  During the offerings, Ms. Portelli interpreted also Franck’s ‘Panis Angelicus’. The other pieces performed in SATB were: ‘Allelulia’ (Taize’), ‘Sanctus’ and ‘Agnus Dei’ (Oltrasi), ‘Il-Mulej qam mill-imwiet’ (Portelli), ‘Make me a Channel of your peace’ (Temple) and ‘Exaltabo Te’. The ceremony reached the end with Mendelsshon’s ‘Wedding March’, skillfully played by Organist Joseph Camilleri.

Congratulations to the new Bajada family.
