Today, Schola Cantorum Jubilate officially launched the eleventh edition of ‘Carols by Candlelight’ by a press event.
The organisers together with the main sponsor met the journalists at ‘Vini e Capricci’ (Wines and Whims) within Abraham’s Complex in Xewkija, Gozo.
Stefan Attard, the choir leader talked about the main Christmas event in Gozo and how along the years, this Christmas Concert kept attracting people. He thanked all the sponsors who support SCJ and its initiatives. Marouska Attard, the choir director talked about the repertoire which will be performed. It will include classical and even modern compositions. Later, artistic director Paul Stellini started his short speech thanking the Organising Committee for believing in his artistic skills and entrusting the event under his direction. He gave some hints about this year’s set. Present was also Maria Attard, responsible of Ġużeppa Debono Home, towards which all proceeds from ‘Carols by Candlelight’ go. She thanked the organisers for supporting the Home which is reaching its 30th anniversary since its opening. Finally, Abraham Said, Director of Abraham’s Supplies assured that his company, which had been the main sponsor of ‘Carols by Candlelight’ since its very beginning will keep supporting such good causes.
Finally, those present were shown the promotional video clip which will be featured on local media and social networks and which in a nutshell describes the whole event.
