postercbc 2016Once leaving a summer behind full of feasts and festivities, many start preparing for the end-of-year celebrations. Furthermore, Christmas is at the heart of many and while going around shops, one can easily notice that preparations have started.

Even Schola Cantorum Jubilate have started preparing for its annual event of Carols by Candlelight which will be held on Friday 9th and Saturday 10th December at St. Augustine’s Priory in Victoria, Gozo.

Rehearsals for this thirteenth edition are underway and a repertoire of traditional and even lesser-known carols is being rehearsed. The repertoire will include classical choral pieces like ‘God rest you merry gentlemen’ and traditional carols from different countries like the local għanja ‘Ninni la tibkix iżjed’ and other contemporary carols.

There will be also solos which will be interpreted by choir director and soprano Marouska Attard and by Bass Albert Buttigieg. Organist Joseph Camilleri will interpret ‘Pastorale’ on the Mascioni Organ.

As in previous editions, the soiree will finish with a delicious five-course dinner inside the Priory Cloister. This will be freshly prepared and catered for by the Ta’ Frenċ Restaurant.

The production is under the direction of local artist Paul A. Stellini and all proceeds will go for Ġużeppa Debono Home of Għajnsielem that is entrusted with pro-life activities within the Diocese of Gozo.
