SCJ Children's Choir

by Stefan Attard

flyer frontSomething new and exciting is coming up in Gozo! Schola Cantorum Jubilate is opening its doors this time to the very young to be part of SCJ Children’s Choir.

Schola Cantorum Jubilate has been around now for nearly seventeen years and it has built up an excellent reputation both locally and abroad as one of the most highly acclaimed choirs from the Maltese Islands. SCJ wants to share its successful journey by reaching out to the younger generation – to children who love music but most of all singing.

Choristers at SCJ Children’s Choir will be given the possibility to improve their singing ability through a good singing technique while exploring new and exciting repertoire. Additionally the children will be taught how to develop their musicianship skills (the ability to read music independently).

So many benefits are attributed with singing in a choir. Apart from the musical benefits, every child at SCJ will develop a strong sense of commitment and responsibility, learn how to work collectively in a group, develop personal growth and confidence and above all experience the fulfilment that comes from excellent singing.

So if you are 8 to 14 years of age and want to be part of this exciting new choir led by the vibrant choral conductor Ms. Marouska Attard, we invite you to register by downloading the registration form and send this to us by post or email. No experience is needed but a love for music and singing is a necessity!

Rehearsals are held on Saturdays from 1 to 2pm at Azzjoni Kattolika in Xagħra Gozo.
