We have exciting news

by Stefan Attard

Logo blog-smallIt is difficult to find one adjective that best describes the past months. Putting it mildly, it has been a whirlwind. From uncertainty and fear in March, hope in June, and renewed concern in July, to the realisation in the past couple of months that this is our new reality: 2020 has been a challenge.

To ensure the safety of our choristers, we adapted the way we deliver our choral program, and also managed to produce, through our SCJ Children’s Choir, a virtual, yet delicate and heartfelt rendition of Johnson’s Agnus Dei, which you can listen to here.

More importantly, Schola Cantorum Jubilate reached its twentieth year in August. We’re proud of our vibrant history and are eager to take SCJ further: to mark this landmarkanniversary, SCJ regenerated itself, all while remaining steadfastly true to its original mission and passion for music.

To this end, we are excited to unveil our new logo, a fresh take on all that SCJ stands for: a commitment to enrich the local choral scene with a high level of choral artistry; with vocal technique and musicology that lead to professional singers; as well as a drive to support the growth of our choristers with enriching life experiences for the heart and mind, with particular attention given to emerging artists.

We also have something incredibly special brewing - but more on this will be shared in the coming days! Let’s just say that, in pure SCJ spirit, it’s an innovative addition to the local music calendar, and one steadfastly in line with our current (socially-distanced) reality!

You can check out our website and Facebook page for more updates over the coming days.

We will also be updating our subscribers via email.
