le="text-align: justify;">On Easter Day, mass is celebrated with great solemnity since it is the greatest feast for the Roman Catholic Church. Schola Cantorum Jubilate animated the 11am Pontifical High Mass at the Basilica of Marija Bambina of Xagħra. H. E. Bishop Emeritus Nicholas G. Cauchi led the ceremony. Mro. Stephen Attard accompanied the choir on the Church organ. The choir performed the ‘Missa de Angelis' (Zardini) set in four voices alternating with the assemblea who responds with the Gregorian chant. Seminarian Daniel Sultana led the congregation. The other hymns were: ‘Haec Dies', a new composition by Paul Portelli, the Psalm 117 (Portelli), the Paschal Allelulia and versetto (Portelli), ‘Vidi aquam' (Frisina), ‘L-Ikel tal-Ħajja' (Holst), ‘Great Amen' ‘Pater Noster' (Gregorian Chant), ‘Sicut Cervus' (Palestrina), ‘Ir-Rgħaj u s-Sid Tiegħi' (arr. Buhagiar) and finally ‘Regina Coeli' by Bartolucci who some years ago was maestro di cappella at the Sistine Chapel. This mass was aired life on Net TV as part of their filming of the Easter celebrations in Xagħra.
