Schola Cantorum Jubilate was involved in organising a private concert in Malta for the Arka Respite Centre and in collaboration with the AX Foundation. This was part of the celebrations marking the tenth anniversary of the Arka Respite Centre of Gozo. The concert was for the Arka benefactors and volunteers who along these ten years offered their service or support. The concert was under the distinguished patronage of H. E. Dr. George Abela, President of Malta. Dr. Abela was present for the concert together with Mr. Charlo Bonnici on behalf of the Prime Minister and other members of Parliament. The concert was held at The Palace in Sliema, Malta and was hosted by Mr. & Mrs. Anġlu Xuereb. The performers invited were the Brass Tubes and soprano Marouska Attard. The Brass Tubes had been co-founded by Mark Gauci and George Camilleri earlier this year. The former is also the musical director. The programme included pieces by Morricone, Bellstedt, Rossini, Gershwin, Giordani, Bellini, Handel, Caccini, Mozart and Brahms. Instrumental solo pieces were assigned to George Camilleri, Daniel Gauci, while the vocal pieces were interpreted by Marouska Attard. Patrons had also the opportunity to admire or buy paintings and sculptures by prominent artists most of whom were Gozitans – Joe Xuereb, John Grima, Austin Camilleri and Christopher Saliba.
