Today masses are not celebrated and instead a service known as the Adoration of the Cross is held at 3pm. The choir animated the liturgy at Ta’ Pinu National Shrine.

All bells and musical instruments amongst which the organ, will not play as a sign of mourning for the passion and death of Our Lord.

Schola Cantorum Jubilate performed various pieces amongst which ‘Missier nerħi ruħi f’idejk’ (Psalm by Portelli) during which Leanne Attard led the congregation. During the Adoration of the Cross, the choir performed ‘Popule Meus’ (Palestrina), ‘Super Flumina Babylonis’ (Palestrina) and ‘Stabat Mater’ (Plain Chant). Then during the communion, the choir performed ‘Crucem Tuam’ (Bartolucci) and ‘O Ras ta’ Kristu Imbierka’ (Bach).
