Schola Cantorum Jubilate was invited by the organising committee within the Ministry for Gozo to take part in the events organised for the inauguration of the newly restored Citadella in Victoria.
The evening included various events in different areas around the bastions which attracted many visitors.
Schola Cantorum Jubilate held a thirty-minute sacred concert at the Cathedral. The repertoire included various pieces which were sung a cappella and which were highly acclaimed by the attendees. The programme included polyphonic pieces by Palestrina, Tallis, Viadana, Byrd, Williams and other contemporary ones by Chilcott, Gielo and Agiular. Two Maltese pieces performed and which the audience appreciated were by Caruana.
This concert was the last appointment for the choristers who will now have two weeks of holidays in order to rest and enjoy the summer. However, more commitments are in the pipeline!
