wedding symbolsAfter a well-deserved summer recess of two weeks, Schola Cantorum Jubilate met again for a wedding service.

Nancy Portelli and Daniel Vella asked the choir to animate their Nuptial Mass at the Basilica of Nadur. It started at 6pm and was officiated by Fr. Agius, cousin of the groom. Daniel Vella is a trumpeter who works with the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra with whom SCJ has collaborated on various occasions.

The repertoire chosen for the mass included Caccini’s ‘Ave Maria’ that was interpreted by Marouska Attard, Mozart’s ‘Ave Verum’, Temple’s ‘Make me a Channel of your peace’ and Portelli’s ‘Sanctus’.

Accompanying the choir, there were organist Ronald Camilleri and trumpeter Jason Camilleri who interpreted also various trumpet voluntaries and Mendelssohn’s ‘Wedding March’ at the end of the mass.
