In the morning the church bells announced the birth of an innocent newborn that was predestined for our salvation. At 10.30am, Schola Cantorum Jubilate started carol singing in the Basilica of Marija Bambina, Xaghra. Some of the carols performed by the Schola were: ‘Hark the Herald', ‘Shepherd's pipe carol' and ‘Psallite'. Then Schola Cantorum Jubilate animated the 11am High Mass which was officiated by Rev. Fr. Anthony Theuma. The choir performed the ‘Missa Cantate Domino' by Giuseppe Oltrasi and the hymns: ‘Adeste Fidelis' during the introit, ‘Allelulia' with versetto by Paul Portelli, ‘O Holy Night' during the offerings and was interpreted by Marouska Attard, ‘Puer Natus' (Bartolucci) and finally the ‘Allelulia' from the Messiah chorus by Handel. The choir was accompanied by Mro. Stephen Attard on the organ and trumpeter Joseph Xerri.
