Ċirku9Ġrajja: An Unexpected End, But a Journey Nonetheless

by Daniela Grech Sultana

Had things gone to plan, and the entirety of our hard work borne fruit, we would be publishing this blog with a different tone. But life rarely goes to plan, and as the past two years have shown us, we are mere humans subject to fate and surrounded by an environment that we cannot really control. The only element left in our hands is how we react to a situation and the level of respect we show towards those around us.

As Schola Cantorum Jubilate, we feel blessed to have experienced two (out of a planned three) magical Christmas concerts with you all. Featuring 70 choristers and musicians, we presented a unique repertoire of Christmas classics, with choral pieces specifically arranged for the concerts, new compositions as well as experimentation with different instruments.

SCJ and a new World Alliance of Children’s Choirs

by Stefan Attard

We are happy to announce that a new era for our Children’s Choir started last Sunday with the launch of the World Alliance of Children’s Choirs.
The World Alliance of Children’s Choirs is a global network for children’s choirs unlike any other. It aims to open the doors for collaboration providing accessible global music opportunities for choirs and conductors. Besides many membership benefits, enrolled choirs will be able to sit into rehearsals in any host country of an alliance choir during their travels. Migration and bridging programmes for singers and conductors by alliance choirs will be some of the key highlights of WACC.
The founding global members consist of eight esteemed choral conductors and seven prestigious children's choirs from around the world. These choirs hail from Hong Kong, Canada, Spain, Sinagpore, Germany, Malaysia and Malta.
Our SCJ Children’s Choir represents the Maltese Islands in this international music project with the choir conductor Marouska Attard sitting on the WACC Board.

Please keep following our social media pages and website to keep track of our musical life.
