The Gozo Cathedral bells rang joyfully as Maria Zammit and Mario Reno Cauchi joined in matrimony.
Mass started at 5.30pm and was officiated by Fr. Joseph Bajada, cousin of the groom. The bride was welcomed in church on Schubert’s notes of the ‘Ave Maria’ interepreted by Marouska Attard.
The choir, accompanied by Jean Noel Attard on the organ, performed: ‘Allelulia’ (Taize’), ‘Panis Angelicus’ (Franck), ‘Santus’ and ‘Agnus Dei’ (Oltrasi), ‘Make me a Channel of your peace’ (Temple) and finally ‘Exaltabo Te’ (Taize’).

Summer brings around many outdoor activities and encounters. Schola Cantorum Jubilate during the past month had various occasions to spend some time together.
During the past week, Schola Cantorum Jubilate hosted the University of London Chamber choir composed of 25 students and ex-students from the University of London. The choir is under the direction of Mro. Colin Durrant.
The Xagħra bells rang joyously in the morning as the parishioners strolled along the main roads following the ‘Corpus Christi’.
The last day of May will surely be remembered wholehearthedly by Mary Carm Meilak and Josef Bajada.
In fact, today, Schola Cantorum Jubilate animate their Nuptial Mass at Kerċem Parish Church. The choir was under the direction of Mro. Mark Gauci and Joseph Camilleri accompanied on the organ.
Mass started at 5pm and was officiated by the Parish Priest Fr. Brian Meilak, cousin of the bride. On entering the church, the bride was welcomed by Stephanie Portelli who interpreted Gounod’s ‘Ave Maria’. During the offerings, Ms. Portelli interpreted also Franck’s ‘Panis Angelicus’. The other pieces performed in SATB were: ‘Allelulia’ (Taize’), ‘Sanctus’ and ‘Agnus Dei’ (Oltrasi), ‘Il-Mulej qam mill-imwiet’ (Portelli), ‘Make me a Channel of your peace’ (Temple) and ‘Exaltabo Te’. The ceremony reached the end with Mendelsshon’s ‘Wedding March’, skillfully played by Organist Joseph Camilleri.
